Since 2021, Bloomer may call itself a SKAL certified organization. We are quite proud of this! In recent years we have invested heavily in environmentally friendly initiatives, such as sustainable packaging, efficient refrigeration systems, LED lighting and securing organic products.

As a leading player, we remain in discussion with SMK, the organization behind the Sustainable Florist Barometer, to see how we can support florists to join. After all, every affiliated florist makes the sector a little more sustainable.

We encourage our growers to produce as sustainably as possible. In our Bloomer webshop, certifications such as MPS, SKAL and Planet Proof are clearly displayed. This is because we find that florists are more likely to choose products from certified growers. The shopping cart in our webshop clearly shows how sustainable your purchases are and there is an option to request an overview where everything is broken down. Handy for the Barometer. Our convenient location in the Westland region offers the advantage that we have short lines of communication with growers. As much as possible, we buy directly from them so that customers have the freshest flowers available. Together we shorten the chain for the benefit of the consumer.

With each new partnership, we ask growers to reduce paper and plastic as much as possible. In addition, we use collective transportation, where growers combine multiple orders. This way we ensure that one transport truck serves multiple customers, instead of 5 trips per day.
